Viola Eva Jones 94, died Monday October 28, 2013 at Rutland Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born September 26, 1919 in East Poultney, VT. the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Phillips) Woodard. She attended local schools in East Poultney. Viola worked as a nurses aid at McCanns Nursing Home for several years. She was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church of Poultney. Viola enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her son Glenn E. Wetherby of Corinth, NY and by her daughter Martha A. Felion, of Illinois; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by husband Idwal Deke Jones on January 17, 1994, her son Harold D. Wetherby and daughters, Alice C. Cornwall and Viola Bourn; her brothers, Rollin and Robert Woodard. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 1, 2013 at 11:30 A.M. at the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home 266 Allen Ave. Poultney, VT. The Rev. Holly Noble will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, at 55 Day Lane, Williston, VT 05495. .
