Maureen Zappola of Rutland, VT formerly of Andes, NY died unexpectedly on November 20,2025, in route to Rutland Regional Medical Center. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death.

Maureen was born on August 7, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY. As a child her family moved to Bayshore, NY where she went on to raise her family with Dominick. Later on, they moved to Andes , NY. Due to her Alzheimer's Maureen moved to Vermont so her daughter can support Dominick with her care.

Maureen was a fabulous artist and great cook. She liked to sew, crochet, dance, play games and enjoyed traveling.

Most of all ,being forever young at heart, Maureen embraced being a Nana. Always dropping whatever she was doing for the grandchildren.

Maureen is survived and deeply missed by her loving husband Dominick of 62 years, and her children Dominick Zappola Jr, Donnalee Kelly (Jim), Denise Adelgren (Russ), Maureen Cresenti; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and her brother Karl Wargo. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Vigil is 12-4 Sunday November 30, 2025 at Robert-Aubin Funeral Home in Poultney, VT.

Funeral service 11am Monday at Saint Raphael Catholic Church in Poultney, VT.
