Marian A. Penny Szpakowski, 60, of Wells, VT died unexpectedly Thursday morning at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home, Poultney. She was born on August 24, 1952 in Rhinebeck, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Kolby) Hurn. She worked for many years as a retail manager before her illness caused her to be disabled. She enjoyed painting, crafting, board games, and playing skip-bo games with her husband. In recent years, she enjoyed playing online video games with her grandson, as well as playing imaginative games with her granddaughter. Most of all she enjoyed having her family together. She is survived by husband Joseph Szpakowski; her son, Heath Davis and his companion Daniella Perez of Pittsford. She is survived by three daughters; Shannon Gould and her husband Christopher of Granville, NY, Heather Marosz and her husband Kevin of Middletown, CT, and Tiffany Szpakowski of Rutland. She is survived by two grandchildren Kevin Marosz Jr. and Ellianna Davis with one expected Davis baby on the way. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jacob Hurley. A graveside service will be held on Monday July 1, 2013 at 11 A.M. at Wells Village Cemetery with Rev. Art Peters officiating. Immediately following the ceremony there will be a Pot Luck celebration of life at the family home at 171 Route 30 in Wells. Please bring a dish to pass and a story to share.
