Linda J. Duda 67, a long time Poultney resident died Wednesday evening August 29, 2012 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Born December 10, 1944 in Granville, NY, the daughter of the late Warner G. and Margery (Phillips) McFarren. She was a 1962 Graduate of Poultney High School. She married the love of her life Walter A. Duda on February 20, 1965 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Poultney. Together with her husband they owned and operated Duda Water Sports on Lake Bomoseen for many years. Linda enjoyed reading, knitting, caring for stray animals, singing, shopping, spending time with family and friends and riding motorcycle with her husband. She is survived by her husband Walter, of Poultney, by her daughter, Shelley Duda-Loos and her husband Mark, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, by her sons, Michael Joseph Duda, of Berlin, Germany and Stephen Duda, of Wallingford, VT, also by her step-son, Walter A. Duda Jr., of Bolton, VT, by her sisters, Judy Grant, of Rutland, VT and Sharon Lutton, of New Haven, VT by her granddaughter and also by an aunt Patricia Dillon. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 4, 2012 at 1 P.M. at the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home, 266 Allen Ave., Poultney. The Rev. Alex Stringer will officiate.
