Lewis "Bud" H. Seamans, Jr. born in was Rutland, VT, December 10, 1943. A longtime resident of North Clarendon, VT, recently moved back to Middletown Springs, VT, where he was receiving hospice care in his home. Lewis passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by family.
Lewis enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was walking with his dog, hunting, fishing, forestry, gardening, photography, building a garage, or just tinkering with something. As a young man he worked in the potato fields and apple orchards. He later grew his own trees and enjoyed making apple pies and jelly. Bud graduated Middletown Springs High School in 1961. He enlisted in the Navy and several years later was honorably discharged. Lewis married Beverly "Jean" (Whitney) Seamans, July 20, 1963. They moved to Virginia Beach while he was in the service. Bud was a medic, military police, worked the flight deck and was an airplane engine mechanic. They moved to Connecticut where he attended night school while working for Pratt and Whitney as a machinist. Upon returning to VT, Lewis took those skills to Howe Scale and later, General Electric, from which he retired.
Lewis was predeceased by his wife, Beverly, son, Lewis Scott Seamans, sister, Leslie (Martin) Caceres, parents, Ruth (Greene) Seamans and Lewis H. Seamans, Sr. Bud is survived by his daughter Dale Towsley and her husband Karl, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 am, Friday, November 21st, 2025 at the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home, 266 Allen Street, Poultney, VT. In lieu of flowers, Bud's suggested donations are to: Animal Rescue League (SPCA), St. Jude Children's Hospital, The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, American Cancer Society, and Meals on Wheels of Rutland County.
