Laura Kyness Johnson Capps passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Laura graduated from Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana in 1983. She served her community as a nurse for 41 years. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she shared with her family, friends and all the countless patients she cared for throughout her life.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Johnson and Hazel Aldy Johnson, and by her brother, Harold Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Wayne Capps; her children, Aaron Johnson and wife Anna and Drew Creekmore; her siblings, Cynthia Johnson, Marylyn Johnson Beall and husband Gene, and Richard Johnson and wife Deborah, and her sister-in-law Cindy Flores Johnson (widow of Harold).

Laura’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and compassion. She leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to comfort those whose lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
