Kenneth M. Thomas 84, passed away Sunday Morning August 3, 2014 at Rutland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Born August 8, 1929 in Poultney he was the son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Parker) Thomas. He was graduate of Poultney High School class of 1947. Kenneth worked in the slate Industries working the area quarries for many years. He was a member of the J. Claire Carmody American Legion Post # 39 of Poultney. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, bull head and trout fishing, playing pool, bowling and poker, he also coached Little League for many years in Poultney area. He is survived by his wife Rhoda (Stoddard) Thomas of Poultney, his children, Kenneth A. Kenny Thomas and wife Margaret of Winooski, Karen Powers and husband Dave of Poultney and Kim Jones and husband Dan of Poultney, by his sisters, Helen Jones and Mary Louise Beebe both of Poultney, by his 7 grandchildren Peg Mutty and husband Chris, Patrick Thomas, Kyle Powers, Kelsey Powers, Kasandra Powers, Ali Jones and Hailey Jones. Also by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, by a son Keith Thomas in 1979, by his brother Charles Thomas and sister Gloria Hoague. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Wednesday August 6, 2014 from 5-7 P.M. at the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home, 266 Allen Ave. Poultney. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday August 7, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Poultney Cemetery.
