Niskayuna, NY - It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father and husband Joe Winter, who passed away on July 22, 2024 at the age of 84.

Joe was born in Poland and at the age of 11, made the journey to America with his parents to escape the horrors that were occurring in his homeland. Joe and his parents settled in Rochester, NY where he attended the local schools. Joe enlisted and served in the army after high school. Once he was out of the army, Joe found a career in sales and owned and operated JW Office Systems for 20+years, serving medical offices of the Albany area.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Sandra (Taddune) Winter. His son David (Beth) Winter of Poultney, VT and daughter Julie Winter of Niskayuna. He will be dearly missed by his two granddaughters, Laura and Faith Winter. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Ignaz and Maria Winter.

Joe was an avid golfer and member of the Edison Club in Rexford, NY for many years. Joe and Sandy enjoyed traveling in their retirement. Joe loved Hilton Head, SC, especially in the winter. You would find Joe on his balcony early in the morning with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, his newspaper or book waiting for the sunrise. Joe loved to read and was a frequent visitor of the Schenectady Public Library.

Per the family's wishes, there will be no calling hours and the burial will be for the immediate family only.
