John F. ( Luke) McGreevy passed from this world for his next adventure on August 5, 2024 following a short battle with cancer. He was born in Rutland Vt Nov. 6, 1961 to Gerald and Joyce Ann (Grant) McGreevy.

Originally from Poultney, John briefly served in the United States Army.. He settled in Florida. After many years working for the Carpenters Union he became self-employed as a general contractor and carpenter. If you couldn't reach him by phone, he would be found at the "office" H&D Roadhouse in Merritt Island. In 2022 he moved back to Vermont.

Luke was an avid football fan, especially the Patriots and Notre Dame. He was a lover of all facts and statistics.

John is predeceased by his father Gerald, his brothers Keith and Michael, and brother in law James Kasuba and his partner Debra Hurley. He is survived by his mother Joyce, sisters Sandra Winn and Susan Kasuba, brother in law Steve Winn, sister in law Michelle Connelly, two daughters Crystal Maynard and Chelsea McGreevy and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his faithful companion Paddy. He also leaves a friend and business partner Keith McGrath and countless friends on Merritt Island.

Calling hours will be at Roberts Aubin Funeral Home in Poultney on Aug. 20 at 1pm. Burial will be at 2pm at Poultney Cemetery.
