James E. McManus 78, died Monday morning July 24, 2017 at Mountain view Center Genesis Elder Care in Rutland after a long illness. He was born December 22, 1938 in Plainfield, NJ, the son of Walter and Alice (Ford) McManus. Jimmy married Rosemary Mason on August 26, 1961 in West Orange, NJ He was a member of the Fair Haven Volunteer Rescue Squad serving from 1972-1995 and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading American history. Jimmy was a Public Safety Officer for Green Mountain College retiring in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Rosemary McManus of Poultney, by his two sons, Scott and wife Dr. Andrea Silva McManus of Mooretown, VT and Donny and wife Celena McManus, of Poultney. By his two grandchildren, Heather Lynn McManus and Andrew James "AJ" McManus. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents and his daughter Dawn Michelle McManus and his brother George McClymont. Per his wishes there will be no visiting hours. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 11:15 A.M. in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Fair Haven. Afterwards, a reception will be held at the Fair Haven American Legion from noon to 2PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association at Alzheimers Association P.O.
