Obituary

Frederick Mnch Poultney- Frederick A. Mnch, 87, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Rutland Regional Medical Center, Rutland VT. Born in New York, NY December 17, 1926, he was the son of the late Alfred and Rose (Pugliese) Mnch. Fred honorably served his country in WW II in the United States Army. He was a theatrical stage worker employed for several years by IATSE. He did work for The Tonight Show, various movies and soap operas. In addition he worked for 20 years at Saratoga Performing Arts Center and traveled to Japan to work on the stage for Porgy and Bess. He operated Whitehouse Bed and Breakfast in Newmarket, VA for several years. In addition he had operated a dairy farm in Poultney for 12 years. He enjoyed carpentry and restoring Studebaker and Avanti automobiles. He was predeceased by his wife, Cindy (Johnson) Munch in 2004. Surviving family members include two sons, Robert F. Mnch and his wife Vivienne of Poultney and Richard F. Mnch and wife Georgeann of Poultney; two brothers, Andrew Mnch of Pine Knoll Shores, NC and Richard Mnch of Norfolk, CT; one sister, Mary Salerno of Long Island, NY; his former wife, Jean A. Norcott; five grandchildren, Jennifer Mnch, Daniel Mnch, Heather Mnch, Nicholas Mnch and Michael Mnch. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 PM at Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home, 266 Allen Ave., Poultney. A service will be conducted at the funeral home at 4 PM Sunday with the Rev. Daniel Jordan, pastor of St. Raphaels Church officiating. Burial will take place at 1 PM Tuesday October 14, 2014 at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, NY.
