Wells, VT - Florence E. (VanBuren) Martelle died Thursday evening, August 22, 2024, at RRMC following a short illness surrounded by her loved ones. Florence was born in Proctor, VT on February 08, 1941, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Gould) VanBuren.

She enjoyed family gatherings, her teddy bear collection, going to the casino, watching football, golf, baseball and Nascar programs. She worked for many years as head housekeeper at Dorset Field Club, and also worked at Inn at Manchester.

She was preceded in death by parents, Florence V (Gould) VanBuren and Arthur E. VanBuren Sr.; grandsons, Charles (Chuck) Marra Jr. and Ryan Arthur Martelle; great-granddaughter, Alexis Elaine Martelle.

She is survived by 6 children, Diane (Lynn) Martelle and Charles Marra Sr of Granville, NY, Ernest and Lynn Martelle Jr. of Wells, VT, Dale Detko of Brandon, VT,

William (Butch) and Lori Martelle of Wells, VT, Jeffrey (Mike) Martelle and Kristi Waite of Granville, NY, Marlene and Charles Gretz of Granville, NY; siblings, Mrs. Lorraine (Larry) Moore of Wells, VT and Arthur (Doris) VanBuren Jr. of Poultney, VT; 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held at Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home in Poultney, VT on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 3-6 pm with a short service following.

The family welcomes you to join them for a Celebration of Life after the services at the MWA white building in Wells, VT.
