Elizabeth Susie Betty Thomas, nee Bemis, 88, of Shiloh, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Cedarhurst Assisted Living and Memory Care in Shiloh, IL. Elizabeth was born on July 8, 1927 in Barre, VT. She worked as a Copy Center Operator for Purdue University; was a Gold Star Mom from Vietnam American Legion Auxillary; Cub Scout Den Mother; enjoyed reading, sewing, and raising her 5 children, to whom she was a great mom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis H. Thomas; parents, Olin & Robertine Bemis, nee Toussaint; and son, Michael Thomas. Elizabeth is survived by her children, John (Barb) Thomas of Lafayette, IN, Mary (Lon) Winger of OFallon, IL, Pat (Don) Souffrant of Las Vegas, NV, and Kathy (Steve) Chadwell of Lafayette, IN; sister, Evelyn Busby of High Point, NC; grandchildren, Jill Thomas, Joanna Harrison, Michelle Chadwell, Kristina Winger, Denise Souffrant, Caitlin Winger, and Michael Souffrant; and great-grandchildren, Sydney Scharlach, Caleb Harrison, Jaxson Thomas, Kaden Harrison, Alex Scharlach and Adrianna Thomas.
