Obituary

Eleanor "Elly" Clark 91, died Thursday March 14, 2019 at her residence after a period of failing health. She was born August 23, 1927 in Staten Island, NY the daughter of Angelo and Theresa (Brocato) Spadaro. Ellie graduated high school and furthered her education at the Fashion Institute in Bronx, NY and also studied Physical Education. She worked for many years at Loehmans department store in Brooklyn, NY. She married Thomas P. Clark in Staten Island, NY, the couple moved to Brooklyn in 1950. Elly belonged to numerous ice skating clubs including Prospect Park in Brooklyn and marching bands in Staten Island, she also worked in Opera and stage work in New York, NY. Together with her husband Thomas they vacationed on Lake St. Catherine for many years prior to moving to Poultney in 1987. Ellie was a member of the Womens Guild at St. Raphaels Catholic Church and was very active in the Poultney Young at Heart Club and Poultney Rescue Squad thrift store with her husband. She is survived by her children, Thomas J. Clark, of Poultney; Patricia A. Clark Davidson, of Brooklyn, NY, and her sister, Jean Brown, of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was predeceased by her parents, by her husband Thomas P. Clark who died in 2002 and by her sisters Anne and Mildred. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 21, 2019 at 2 P.M. at St. Raphael the Arch Angel Catholic Church in Poultney with the Rev. Lourduraja Simeone H.G.N. as the celebrant. Burial will be at a later date in Poultney Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Poultney Young at Hearts Club at 206 Furnace Street, Poultney, VT 05764.
