Obituary

Poultney, VermontDorothy M. Warrender Mrs. Dorothy M. Warrender, 80 years of age, was called home to her Maker, Savior and Lord on Friday, February 18, 2011. She was born January 10, 1931 in Coventry, Rhode Island, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Pierce, Senior and Delia Eva (Trask) Pierce. Dot loved to write letters of encouragement to her family, friends and many missionaries. She had a way with words outshined by no one. She always included uplifting words, poems or songs she had composed. She began writing and recording her poems in 1955, the year she wed her best friend and life-long companion. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and keeping a spotless and inviting home for her husband, children and many guests. Her love of wildlife was evidenced in all aspects of her life; and she enjoyed traveling the back roads of New England, but especially Vermont, with her husband to espy all the creatures of Gods beautiful creation. To all who knew and loved Dot it was evident that she loved her Lord with all her heart and strived to please Him. She is survived by her three children and their families-Rick O. Warrender of Lynchburg, Virginia; Cindy L. Warrender of Jacksonville, Arizona; and Bonnie L. Ennis of Poultney, Vermont. Dot had seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her beloved niece, Beverly Pomfret and her family of Poultney, Vermont; brother-in-law Malcolm Warrender and his wife Kay of Poultney, Vermont; her sister-in-law Marge Pierce of North Kingstown, Rhode Island; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dot was predeceased by her beloved and faithful husband, Richard O. Warrender, who went home to be with his Lord and Maker on August 9, 1999. She was also predeceased by her brother, Benjamin F. Pierce and her sister, Edith Rawlinson. At Dots request there will be no services at this time. At the familys request, a graveside memorial service will be held in the spring at Pleasant View Cemetery in Middletown Springs, Vermont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Radio Missions, PO Box 8100, Walker, LA 70785 or Gospel Recordings, 41823 Enterprise Circle N, Temecula, CA 92590. Arrangements are under the tender care and direction of the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home of Poultney, Vermont. www.robertsaubinfuneralhome.com .
