David A. Jones passed away on March 31, 2026, He was born May 29, 1947 to Howell and Wilma Jones. He grew up in North Granville, NY being raised by his mom and his two brothers, Paul and Tom. His father passed away when David was 12.

David went in the army at 18, and was in the infantry in the Mekong Delta “River Rats” in 1970. He was stationed in Schofield Barracks in Oahu Hawaii for 4 ½ months at the end of his tour. He worked for Tropic Fruit, Telescope and St. Gobain, retiring there after 40 years. He married Mary Vladyka Coppins in 1990 and helped raise her children, Jessica and Richard. One of his greatest enjoyments ever was bring a grandpa to Ava and Jacob. David was very involved with the North Granville Fire Department for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Jessica and her two children, Ava and Jacob, his son, Richard; brothers, Paul and his wife Jane, and their daughter Kim and her children and grandchildren, and Tom Jones in North Granville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Jeremy who passed away in a fire.

On Mary’s side of the family, he was very much loved by his sister in law, Jane McGann two brothers in law, Joseph and Henry Vladyka, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be oon April 19, 2026 at South Granville Congregational Church at 12 Noon.
