Charlotte M. Hampl died peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017. She was born in Rutland, VT on May 23, 1926 to Edna M. (Sharpe) and Charles H. Jennings. She was a graduate of Poultney High School and served in the United States Womans Army Corp. Charlotte freely performed a lifetime of dedicated service to her church, her family & friends and her country & community. She was a member of the Poultney American Legion Auxiliary and the Poultney Senior Citizens "Young at Heart" Club. She was a charter member of the Poultney Rescue Squad, gave regularly to the Red Cross and was a volunteer to the Poultney Cemetery Association. She was also an active member of St. Raphaels Church serving as a parish council member, lector, choir member and Catechism teacher. Additionally, she was a Poultney Village Trustee, Justice of the Peace, on the Board of Civil Authority and a Town Lister. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Anton J. Hampl, sister Dorothy Hannan of Poultney, brother Charles Jennings of Morro Bay, CA, half-sisters Helen Cutting of Queensbury, NY, Jane John of Corinth, NY, Irene Underhill of Lady Lake, FL, half-sister Grace Cuomo of Whitehall, NY and daughter-in-law Donna Hampl of Poultney. She is survived by four sons, Louis, Michael and Craig Hampl of Poultney and Brian Hampl of Rutland, plus 4 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Raphaels Church Renovation Fund for repair of the churchs stained glass windows. Calling hours will be held at Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home, 266 Allen Ave, Poultney on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2-4PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11AM on Monday, November 13, 2017 at St. Raphaels Catholic Church. Rev. Lourduraja Simeone will officiate. Burial will follow in Poultney Cemetery.
