Rutland, Vermont-Catherine M. Bacon 87, formerly of Poultney, Vermont, died Friday morning October 7, 2016 at Mountain View Center in Rutland. She was born November 12, 1928 in Philadelphia., PA, the daughter of John and Rose (Elliot) McLaughlin. Catherine was a member of St. Raphael the Arch Angel Catholic Church. Catherine enjoyed a full life starting her successful career working at Frankford Arsenal in both Philadelphia, PA and Washington, DC. After moving to Vermont she continued working with her late husband Harvey by running the Bacon Dental Lab in Rutland, VT. She was hardworking, devoted to her family and friends, conscientious, and generous with her time and talents, willingly giving a helping hand where needed especially to family or working with the church. Catherine had a great sense of humor and loved to dance, laugh and share a joke. When she could get away she enjoyed traveling especially around New England with her family. Survivors include her brothers, John McLaughlin and wife Joan of Havertown, PA, Luke McLaughlin and wife Jeanne of Bluffton, SC, her sister Mary Quinn and husband Dominick John of Lafayette Hills, PA She was pre deceased by her husbands, Harvey J. Bacon and Joseph Edwards. A mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, October22, 2016 at 11 am at St. Raphael the Arch Angel Catholic Church, with Rev, Lorduraja Simeone as the celebrant. Visiting hours will be held prior from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the Roberts-Aubin-Funeral Home, located at 266 Allen Ave., Poultney, VT 05764.
