Benjamin Charles Dikeman 51, died Monday July 15, 2019 at his residence after a long courageous battle with brain cancer surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 17, 1968 in Rutland the son of Robert Benjamin Watkins and Edna May (Webber) Watkins.
Benjamin was later adopted and raised by his grandparents Harold Albert Dikeman and Daisy May (Berry) Dikeman.
He married Katherine (LaPoint) Ellison on June 5, 1999 in Fair Haven.
Benjamin was a truck driver for Bellavance Trucking Company; this was not just his job but his passion.
He was very proud of being a truck driver and receiving his G.E.D., his greatest love was talking to people about the Civil War and eighteen wheelers.
Survivors are his wife Katherine Dikeman, of Poultney, by his mother Edna Watkins of Tennessee, by his daughter Daisy Mae Chabot and husband Dennis, of Rutland, by his step-sons, Joshua and Isaiah Ellison both of Mendon, by his grandsons, Ethan and Damian Ellison, both of Mendon and granddaughter A1C Rebecca Ellison-Powell, stationed in Ramstein, Germany. by his half brother Troy Rider, of Brandon , by his step brother Charles Albert Dikeman and wife Cathy of Springfield, VT by his mother-in-law MaryEllen Jones, of Poultney ,by his sister-in-law Peggy Moulton and husband Art, of Castleton and by his brother-in-law Walter Smith and wife Pamela , of Gastonia, NC.
A Celebration of Benjamins life will be held at the convenience of his family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Young at Heart Senior Center at 206 Furnace Street Poultney, VT 05764.
