On August 21, 2019 Beatrice (Bea) Fressie passed away peacefully at her home in Poultney VT. Bea was born September 13 1927, in Jay NY, the daughter of Sydney and Theresa (Carpenter) Estes. She was educated in local schools in Ausable Forks, NY and after high school she went on to attend and graduate from secretarial school. Bea was employed after school by the N.Y.S. education department registrar's office at the then Champlain College (SUNY) Plattsburgh. It was there she met her husband of 64 years Frank Fressie. They had 4 children, 1 of which they lost as an infant. In 1968 Bea returned to school where she studied and became a Dental Hygienist. She worked as a professional in various areas of dentistry. She was a licensed school hygienist and worked in several N.Y. schools. After moving to Vermont she worked in several dental practices and was appointed to the State of Vermont dental board. Soon after that she was selected to serve as an examiner with the Northeast Board of Dental Examiners testing in 16 states. Following a period of part time practice in hygiene she was in 2005 chosen by her colleagues of the VT Dental Hygienist Association as Outstanding Dental Hygienist of the year. Bea lived a full and happy life. She loved her profession, her travels with her husband, golf, her home, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But most of all her three children Bernadette, Andrea, Tim and her husband Frank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11am Friday September 6 at St. Marys church in Granville NY, with the Rev. Joseph X. Arockiasamy as the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Raphaels cemetery in Poultney. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date yet to be determined.
